Encryption

Where appropriate and available within the relevant service, encryption may be used to help protect data.

The website refers to 256 AES encrypted backup services. Where this applies, encryption will be used in accordance with the relevant backup service configuration and provider arrangements.

Access Control

Access to systems and client environments should be limited to authorised users.

Clients are responsible for ensuring that users keep passwords secure, use multi-factor authentication where recommended, avoid sharing accounts and notify us promptly of staff changes or suspected compromise.

Backups

Backups are an important part of cyber security and business continuity.

Backup arrangements will depend on the agreed service and should be reviewed regularly to ensure they match the client’s operational needs.

Monitoring And Alerts

Where monitoring or security tools are provided, alerts may be reviewed and investigated according to the agreed support arrangement.

Monitoring does not guarantee that every issue, attack or incident will be prevented or detected.

Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for:

Following cyber security guidance
Using strong passwords
Using multi-factor authentication where recommended
Keeping devices and software updated where not managed by us
Avoiding suspicious links and attachments
Ensuring staff are aware of phishing risks
Maintaining suitable access controls
Reporting suspected incidents promptly
Ensuring appropriate insurance where required

Security Incidents

If a suspected cyber security incident occurs, clients should contact us promptly.

We will take reasonable steps within the agreed scope of service to investigate, contain or support recovery.

Some incidents may require specialist cyber incident response, legal advice, insurer involvement or notification to authorities.

No Absolute Guarantee

Cyber security risk cannot be eliminated completely.

We will use reasonable care and skill, but no system, backup, security product, hosting service or cloud environment can be guaranteed to be completely secure or immune from attack.
